The exhibition was created by Sandra Scheller in honor of her mother, Ruth Golschmiedova Sax, a survivor of three Nazi concentration camps. It presents an extensive collection of authentic items, many of which are connected to survivors who resettled in Southern California. Visitors can explore five themed rooms that trace the history of early anti-Semitism, the rise of the Nazi regime, the Final Solution, and the postwar period of liberation and reflection.

The current installation at the San Diego Central Library serves as a temporary home until mid-2028. Following this engagement, the exhibition is planned to move to a dedicated permanent museum space at Arts District Liberty Station in Point Loma. Admission to the library exhibit is free, and it maintains regular operating hours from Monday through Saturday, remaining closed on Sundays.
