Korea Literature Festival

The Korea Literature Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is scheduled from September 12 to 20, 2026. The festival will be held in Seoul’s Daehangno district, with key activities centered around Marronnier Park, and will expand to other venues across the nation. This annual event, now in its second year, seeks to highlight literature's role in promoting social connection and emotional healing, alongside building a vibrant literary ecosystem.

Key programs include the Seoul International Writers’ Festival, Literature Week, and the World Hangeul Writers Conference. The Seoul International Writers' Festival will feature discussions between notable Korean and international authors, such as Kim Ae-ran and Benjamin Labatut, and will open at the Ara Art Center in Insa-dong. Literature Week, opening at Arko Arts Theater, will include a reading performance honoring the late poet Heo Su-kyung, hosted by actress Go Ah-sung, who serves as the festival's honorary ambassador. The World Hangeul Writers Conference is set to open at Sejong University.

In total, the festival will host 48 literary events involving 167 writers and artists. These events will cover various topics, including a discussion on the future of Korean science fiction. The festival is held in partnership with several organizations, including the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, Arts Council Korea, and the National Museum of Korean Literature, aiming to support writers and expand the global reach of Korean literature.
