Belong To Summer Project 2026

The annual project features a diverse schedule of weekly themes, beginning with a Kick-Off Week where participants help shape the summer's activities. Key highlights include Trans Joy Week, featuring the popular Transboree celebration with creative workshops and a community pizza party, and Theatre Week, hosted in partnership with the Abbey Theatre. During the theatre sessions, youth develop and perform original pieces on Ireland’s national stage, learning skills in storytelling and improvisation.

Other segments include Creativity and Culture Week, which involves upcycling workshops and visits to major institutions like the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and the National Gallery of Ireland. The program also empowers participants through 'Your Week,' where youth members vote on and design their own outings, such as beach trips or picnics. Health and Wellbeing Week focuses on mental health and outdoor sports, providing a holistic approach to youth support.

The summer concludes with a final celebration week in late August, featuring music, games, and reflection on the friendships made throughout the program. Delivered by the queer youth organization Belong To, the project is supported by the Department of Education and Dublin City Council, offering flexible attendance options for participants across the Leinster region.
