Shoreline Clean-up at Tolo Lake

This volunteer event is organized by the Monastery of St. Gertrude and the Grangeville United Methodist Church in coordination with Idaho Fish and Game. Participants meet at the Tolo Lake parking area to engage in stewardship activities, including willow trimming and general cleaning along the shoreline to maintain the local environment.

Following the cleanup work, the program features a presentation by Alyse Cadez, a retired staff member from the Nez Perce National Historical Park. She provides insight into the natural and cultural significance of Tolo Lake, specifically focusing on its historical importance to the Nimiipuu, or Nez Perce, people.

Volunteers are required to sign a liability waiver and should arrive prepared with sturdy walking shoes and work gloves. The event concludes with an outdoor lunch; participants are asked to bring their own food to enjoy at the lake after the work is finished.
