LA Jazz Festival

The LA Jazz Festival was an inaugural music festival planned to celebrate jazz in Los Angeles, California, from August 16 to August 23, 2026. Organizers initially aimed for the event to be a landmark cultural celebration, aspiring to become one of the world's largest international jazz festivals, promoting tourism and supporting minority- and women-owned businesses.

However, the festival's plans were significantly altered and ultimately canceled for 2026. First, the opening night event in Leimert Park and the opening day program at Edward Vincent Jr. Park in Inglewood were canceled due to reported permitting and production challenges. A revised schedule had then outlined a free "Jazz in the Park" concert on August 16 at Magic Johnson Park and marquee "Jazz on the Beach" concerts for August 22-23 at Dockweiler Beach, with advertised headliners including John Legend, Janelle Monáe, Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton, Charlie Wilson, and Raphael Saadiq, among others.

Despite the revised schedule, organizers later announced the full cancellation and postponement of the 2026 festival to 2027. This decision was attributed to "significant, unanticipated last-minute public safety and municipal costs associated with the final permitting of the On The Beach Festival." All current ticket holders for LA Jazz Festival events were advised that they would receive full refunds within 30 days.
