Little India Street Festival

The Little India Street Festival debuted as a pilot project to celebrate the rich history and vibrant traditions of one of Singapore’s most iconic districts. Held along Campbell Lane, the event was organized through a partnership between the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) and the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA). The festival was designed to bring the community together and highlight the precinct's character during a typically quieter period of the year, with future plans to expand the concept to other streets in the area.

Visitors to the festival can explore various hands-on activities, including traditional flower garland tying, block printing with Indian motifs, and sensory workshops for children focused on spices and heritage. A centerpiece of the event is a temporary art installation located outside the IHC that recreates historic storefronts from the past, offering a nostalgic look at the area's evolution. Throughout the day, the street features a variety of cultural performances, ranging from Kuchipudi and Oyilattam dances to Garba, providing a platform for both traditional and less commonly seen art forms.
