Amazing Thailand: Masterpieces of Thai Art

The "Amazing Thailand: Masterpieces of Thai Art" exhibition is presented at Special Exhibition Gallery 1 of the National Museum of Korea in Seoul, running from June 23 to September 6, 2026. Jointly organized by Thailand’s Fine Arts Department under the Ministry of Culture and the National Museum of Korea, the exhibition features more than 200 Thai antiquities and artworks.

The collection spans various periods, illustrating the evolution of Thai history, trade, and art from its prehistoric origins to contemporary times. Key highlights of the exhibition include the renowned Sukhothai Walking Buddha, a distinctive Hariphunchai silver-plated elephant, an Avalokiteshvara image from southern Thailand, and an ancient Dhammachakka, also known as the Wheel of the Law.

The exhibition gained unexpected online attention after its signage appeared as a backdrop to BLACKPINK’s 10th-anniversary fan event held at the same museum, broadening its visibility among an international audience. Following its run in Seoul, a traveling presentation, primarily focusing on Buddhist art, is scheduled to be displayed at the Tongdosa Museum in South Gyeongsang Province from October 4 to December 4, 2026.
