BRICS Theatre Festival

The BRICS Theatre Festival is scheduled to take place in Delhi from October 12-14, presenting a platform for diverse theatrical productions and cultural exchanges. Organized by the culture ministry, with the National School of Drama (NSD) acting as the nodal agency, the event will gather over 100 theatre practitioners, scholars, students, and cultural representatives from nine BRICS member and partner countries. Participating nations include India, Russia, Iran, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Ethiopia.

The festival, themed 'Shared Stories, Shared Futures', will open at the National School of Drama. Performances, encompassing classical, contemporary, and experimental theatre forms, are slated for prominent venues such as the NSD's Abhimanch and Sammukh Auditoriums, Kamani Auditorium, LTG Auditorium, and Meghdoot Theatre. The program also features interactive workshops and discussions, providing opportunities for directors, artists, and production teams to share artistic visions, performance traditions, and technical expertise.

The BRICS Theatre Festival aims to strengthen cultural cooperation and foster people-to-people connections, carrying forward the vision of the Bhopal Declaration which called for enhanced cultural collaboration and exchanges among member nations.
