Tribal Festival-2026

The Tribal Festival-2026 is a significant cultural celebration held in Keylong, Lahaul-Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India. The festival officially began on August 15, 2026, with an opening ceremony that set the stage for showcasing the region's unique heritage.

The inaugural day featured a colourful procession, where local residents, cultural groups in traditional attire, and Buddhist monks participated. This procession offered a vivid display of Lahaul-Spiti's local traditions, religious customs, and spiritual practices. Following the procession, a traditional puja and religious ceremony were conducted by Lamas from various monasteries, including prayers for the peaceful conduct of the festival.

A key highlight of the opening celebrations was a grand traditional Nati performance, a lively folk dance accompanied by traditional music. Dignitaries, including MLA Anuradha Rana, Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana, and SDM Keylong Kunika Akers, formally inaugurated the festival by lighting a ceremonial lamp and also joined enthusiastically in the Nati dance. The festival serves as an important platform not only for showcasing the region’s rich tribal culture and heritage to visitors but also for connecting the younger generation with their traditional customs and cultural roots. A series of cultural programmes, competitions, and other activities are planned for the coming days.
