The Newcomer Welcome Fair took place on July 18, 2026 at Freight House Field in Winnipeg’s Centennial neighbourhood. Hosted by Immigration Partnership Winnipeg and community partners, the event marked its 10th year and welcomed newcomers from around the world.

More than 30 settlement organizations, employers and community groups participated, offering information about services, job opportunities and community support. A tipi and Indigenous teaching space gave visitors an opportunity to learn about the land’s history and build relationships with Indigenous communities.

The public programme also included cultural performances, food and children’s activities such as inflatable castles. Organizers described the fair as a place for social connection, intercultural learning and a stronger sense of belonging in Winnipeg.
