New Spring is an international exhibition created by Tokyo and London-based duo Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves. Part of their ephemeral technology series, the installation features three tree-like structures that emit mist-filled bubbles. These bubbles bloom and fall like flowers, dissolving upon contact with skin to create a multisensory experience for visitors.

This presentation marks the first time the work has been shown in Australia, supported by the Newcastle Art Gallery Foundation. The exhibition is housed in the newly expanded Newcastle Art Gallery and is free to the public. While it opens alongside the city's New Annual festival in September 2026, the installation remains on display through January 2027.
