Reverse Futures is the third and final exhibition in the Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation’s Worldmaking trilogy. The exhibition examines how colonialism, migration and technological change influence present experiences and future visions, with a focus on perspectives from the Global South.

The exhibition runs from 26 June to 5 December 2026 at the Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation (JCAF) in Forest Town, Johannesburg. It features artworks and projects exploring themes such as memory, ecology, Indigenous knowledge, community narratives and alternative approaches to imagining the future.
