Plett ARTS Festival

The Plett ARTS Festival is set to take place in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, from September 25 to October 4, 2026. This long-standing cultural event, which was initially announced to be paused following the expiration of Plett Tourism's mandate with the Bitou municipality and resulting budget restrictions, was successfully preserved by a collective effort of community members, artists, organizers, and supporters.

Under the continued direction of Cindy Wilson-Trollip, who has led the festival for 13 years, the event will proceed in its established format. It draws on Plett Tourism resources but operates with minimal financial support, demonstrating a strong community belief in the role of arts and culture. The festival's theme, "Connect in Plett," emphasizes the relationship between creativity, nature, and community well-being, transforming Plettenberg Bay into a dynamic hub for visual arts and performances.

The program will showcase diverse local and regional talent across various outdoor sites, galleries, and venues in Plettenberg Bay. Key activities include two major exhibitions by the Plettenberg Bay Arts Association: "The White House Collection," featuring collectable artworks by established artists, and "Community Canvas," an inclusive exhibition at the Plett Community Hall with live demonstrations and workshops. Attendees can also experience the Plett Land Art Route, where artists create temporary, environmentally conscious sculptures, and the Plett Twilight Meander, an evening program of galleries, pop-up studios, and live performances on Main Street. The festival also offers hands-on workshops in painting, pottery, floral design, and children's art, alongside music and culinary experiences.
