Manofim Arts Festival

The Manofim Arts Festival, whose name translates to 'levers' or 'construction cranes,' celebrates its 18th year by showcasing a vast array of creative disciplines throughout Jerusalem. Originally established as a platform for plastic arts, the event has grown into a multidisciplinary celebration held at various locations ranging from traditional galleries to rooftops. The festival is currently led by co-founders Rinat Edelstein and Lee He Shulov.

This year’s theme, 'Hakara,' focuses on recognition, awareness, and acceptance within the context of local life. The programming reflects this inclusive philosophy through activities such as soccer match screenings featuring both Hebrew and Arabic commentary. Public engagement is a core component, with the schedule offering guided tours, hands-on workshops for families, and specific free admission slots to ensure accessibility.

Notable performances in the lineup include an eastern-style opera titled 'The Fallow Deer Lift' by Nitai Kallay and a musical-linguistic production called 'Shkula' by Neomi Hashmonai and Neta Weiner. By presenting diverse viewpoints and historical narratives, the festival seeks to connect different facets of society through the medium of contemporary art.
