Event summary

Highlights

  • Full-size replicas of popular Tokyo manhole covers
  • Guest talk featuring comedian Dandy Sakano and enthusiast Shoji Morimoto
  • Integration with the Tokyo Manhole Digital Rally prize program
This free exhibition provides a unique opportunity to view the intricate artwork found on Tokyo's streets in a single location. The display features life-sized replicas of popular manhole covers, allowing visitors to appreciate the designs and learn about the planning processes involved in creating these functional pieces of urban art.

A notable highlight of the event is a scheduled guest talk on Sunday, October 4, featuring comedian Dandy Sakano and manhole enthusiast Shoji Morimoto. While the general exhibition is open to the public without a booking, attendance for the talk was determined by a lottery system that concluded in late September.

The venue is located at Anime Tokyo Station, approximately a four-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. The exhibition is designed to promote the Tokyo Manhole Digital Rally, which encourages residents and tourists to scan various manhole designs throughout the city using a digital interface.
