Pupal Fluid

The exhibition features the work of the transdisciplinary collective holo-, whose practice combines glasswork, scent projects, and scientific research. The title refers to the biological reorganization that occurs during insect metamorphosis, serving as a metaphor for states where an old form has broken down but a new one has not yet fully emerged. The central installation, titled Autochora, consists of an altar, glass cocoons, and five custom scent compositions that replace traditional human-centric deities with microorganisms and plants.

Scent serves as the primary narrative tool in the exhibition, with five distinct compositions tracing a speculative planetary life cycle. This olfactory journey begins with the emergence of life in seawater and sulfur, moves through the flourishing of plants and humans, and concludes with the scents of decay, extinction, and burnt landscapes. These elements function as speculative fossils, inviting the audience to engage with life cycles beyond ordinary human perception.

Curated by Petra Sedlák Housková and Krisztián Gábor Török, the exhibition is presented in collaboration with Šopa Gallery. The opening ceremony is scheduled for September 26, 2026, and the event is open to the public free of charge. The duo's process emphasizes collaborative dialogue and the use of materials like glass, which is shaped by natural forces such as heat and gravity.
