Cashel Casalatttico Cultural & Business Weekend

The Cashel Casalatttico Cultural & Business Weekend, scheduled from July 11 to 14, 2026, is an initiative led by the Cashel Chamber of Commerce in Cashel, Ireland. Its primary objective is to develop and strengthen tourism, cultural, and commercial links between Cashel and Italy, specifically with a delegation from Casalattico and the Lazio region. The event is intended to culminate in a Friendship Charter signing, with aspirations for a formal town twinning agreement.

The weekend's public activities include free live music on the Plaza from 1 PM to 10 PM on Saturday, July 12, featuring nine different performers. On Sunday, July 13, a book launch for "On the Trail of the Ship Arandora Star" by Francesco Morelli will take place at 10:30 AM at the Rock of Cashel, with proceeds funding new and cleaned headstones for Italian internees who drowned in 1940. Sunday evening also offers a free public concert by singer Concetta Pepere at St John The Baptist Church at 7 PM.

The Italian delegation, led by the Italian Ambassador to Ireland, will follow a comprehensive itinerary. Highlights include a formal welcome at Bru Boru on Sunday, where the Friendship Charter will be signed, alongside performances from Comhaltas, the Italian folk group BiFolk (who are scheduled to perform around Cashel until Tuesday), and the Michelle Lawrence Dance Academy. A business lunch, hosted by the Chamber in the former Fire Station, will showcase products from local suppliers like the Tipperary Food Network to the Italian delegates. On Monday, July 14, the delegation will visit Cashel Folk Village, attend a hurling demonstration, and tour Rockwell College and Larkspur Park, with local groups and businesses contributing to the community effort.
