VIVID Art Festival

The VIVID Art Festival takes place across Sault Ste. Marie, offering a four-day celebration designed to foster community connection, creativity, and inclusion. It features a wide array of activities including music, visual arts, performances, workshops, film screenings, and public art installations.

A key attraction is a free outdoor concert, typically held at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion, which has previously showcased artists such as Fefe Dobson, Goodnight Sunrise, and Silent Nin9. Attendees can also join guided mural walking tours to explore the city's public art collection and learn about the stories behind the pieces, including works by collectives like DRIFT Mural Co.

Another significant event is the Cultural Market at the Downtown Plaza, presented by the Local Immigration Partnership, celebrating community diversity through local cultural organizations, music, dance, and performances. The festival's program often includes vocal masterclasses and concerts by the Great Lakes Artist Series, interactive art workshops, live theatre by the Sault Indie Theatre Collective, and special film presentations like 'Dylan on Film' at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
