The Feast of Corpus Christi celebration at Our Lady of Victory Church in Springdale Township is a historic regional tradition dating back more than 80 years. Tracing its roots to European and Latin American customs where temporary artworks are created along procession routes, this unique event centers on the creation of vibrant, large-scale carpets made entirely of colored sawdust.

Starting early in the morning, more than 100 volunteers from across the region gather to build between 15 and 20 detailed artistic carpets in the church parking lot. Using wooden frames and sawdust dyed in 19 distinct colors, families and parish groups spend hours completing designs that depict various religious symbols and biblical scenes. No prior artistic experience is required, and the public is welcome to participate or view the completed works.

Following the completion of the carpets, the religious observance continues with a traditional Corpus Christi Mass in the late afternoon. The day concludes with a community dinner, bringing together parishioners, volunteers, and visitors to celebrate and preserve one of the area's most distinctive cultural and spiritual events.
