Johnny Appleseed Festival

The festival offers a wide array of attractions for attendees, including 270 vendors, 65 percent of which represent nonprofit or charitable organizations, and 36 food trucks. Musical entertainment is a key highlight, with performances on three stages from groups such as the Leominster High School Chorus, Yankee Dixon Band, blues artist Spud Kelly, Eagles tribute band Eagles Encounter, a German band, and Christian music. Children's activities include a parking lot party with games and bouncy houses, dancing with a professional DJ, Hyridge Farms pony rides, and appearances by Disney characters.

A renowned feature of the festival is the legendary apple crisp, prepared by The First Baptist Church using local apples. Other community groups, including up to 23 church groups and Fitchburg High School groups, also participate. Admission and parking for the event are free. Originally centered on the downtown green, the event has expanded to encompass all nearby streets. Dignitaries, including Gov. Maura Healey and U.S. Rep. James McGovern, are expected to attend, with McGovern scheduled for a special recognition ceremony. The event is celebrated as a long-standing tradition, identified by one source as the 33rd annual festival.
