Organized by the High Plains Library District, YES!fest provides a collaborative environment for children and families to explore STEM fields. The event features a wide array of activities, including more than 100 hands-on science experiments presented by Colorado State University’s Little Shop of Physics. While the festival welcomes students of all ages, its core programming is tailored to engage second through fifth-grade students to help build early scientific curiosity and literacy.

Since its inception in 2019, the festival has expanded from a small pilot program to a significant regional event, previously attracting nearly 2,000 attendees. It was recently recognized by the Colorado Association of Libraries as the project of the year. In addition to scientific demonstrations, the event emphasizes literacy by distributing free books to all youth participants.
