Spokane County Interstate Fair

The Spokane County Interstate Fair, an annual agricultural event held in Spokane County, showcases a variety of traditional farming activities and educational displays. It includes livestock competitions, such as the intermediate showman competition in the Ag Barn, where participants lead and present animals like heifers to judges.

Attendees can also visit educational exhibits, including a booth hosted by the Inland Empire Beekeepers Association. This exhibit features transparent hives with live honeybees, allowing the public to learn about bee care and the crucial role honeybees play in agriculture, pollinating a large portion of human food. Beekeepers aim to educate the public and generate interest in bees, especially among children.

Another highlight is the antique tractor pull demonstration, organized by the Inland Empire Steam and Gas Buffs. This demonstration showcases historical farm machinery, such as a 1947 John Deere M tractor pulling heavy sleds, illustrating traditional early farming techniques and the evolution of agricultural technology.
