Difference Makers banquet

The Difference Makers banquet serves as a platform to recognize individuals in Poplar Bluff who significantly impact their community through various service initiatives. Held at the Westwood Center, the 2026 event brought together approximately 250 attendees to celebrate those working in fields such as disaster recovery, youth support, and the development of inclusive recreational spaces.

The 2026 ceremony highlighted five specific finalists: Harvey Heard, Michelle Worley Hurt, Julie Hillis-Limpert, Robbie Myers, and Alex Tinker. These individuals were honored for diverse contributions, ranging from building all-abilities playgrounds to providing sports activities for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.

Beyond the awards, the evening featured entertainment by Misty DeJournett and Vince Faraone, alongside a charitable raffle supported by local businesses like Money Mizer.
