Romeo Peach Festival

The 95th annual Romeo Peach Festival is an extensive five-day community celebration taking place in Romeo, Michigan, from Thursday, September 3rd to Monday, September 7th, coinciding with the Labor Day weekend. This long-standing tradition is known for attracting an estimated 150,000 attendees to the northern Macomb County community. The festival grounds in downtown Romeo are filled with carnival rides, a bustling food pavilion, a beer tent, and stages hosting live musical performances.

Key public activities include Friday night fireworks, Sunday's popular bed races, and a car cruise. The festivities culminate on Monday with two significant parades: a Children’s Parade in the morning followed by the annual Hometown Parade in the afternoon. Other events throughout the weekend include a 5K run, various craft shows, cornhole competitions, and a pancake breakfast organized by the Romeo Lions Club.

The festival also dedicates a portion to younger attendees with the Kids Fest, held on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its new location in Bruce Township Park. This area is specifically for children aged 12 and under and offers pony rides, games, a clown, choo-choo train rides, and music. A new feature at the Kids Fest is the Kids Market, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to sell their handcrafted products. Additionally, the Romeo Community Center hosts a large book sale, and local farmers are present to sell fresh peaches and peach-flavored products, highlighting Romeo's rich peach-growing heritage.
