Tom Neumeyer Book Release and Signing Event

Local author Tom Neumeyer is set to host a special book release and signing event for his new nonfiction work, "Cape Girardeau and Jackson: Past and Present." This event will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Starbucks located inside the Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear brief remarks from Neumeyer, ask questions about his research, and get their copies of the book signed.

Published by Acclaim Press of Sikeston, the book delves into the rich history of Cape Girardeau and Jackson, examining the people, places, and events that have shaped both communities from their early beginnings to the present day. Neumeyer's research draws upon historical records, archives, photographs, and local insights, providing a comprehensive look at the region's past. The publication also features photographs contributed by his grandchildren, Zach Borowiak, and Erica, Megan, and Shawn Cooley, who attended public schools in both cities.

Neumeyer, a native of Cape Girardeau, has a strong connection to the area, having lived in Cape Girardeau and south of Jackson throughout his life. He is known for his involvement in local historic preservation efforts and previously served on the Cape Girardeau City Council. This event celebrates his latest contribution to documenting the region's historical narrative.
