Farm Festival

The annual Farm Festival, presented by the Dreibelbis Farm Historical Society, is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival is held at the Historic Dreibelbis Farm, located at 356 Hard Hill Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. This event aims to showcase Pennsylvania German life on the farm, preserving and sharing the heritage of the nearly 250-year-old Dreibelbis family farm, which features an unremodeled 1860s brick farmhouse.

Visitors can explore various aspects of rural life, with demonstrations of old-time tools and farming activities. The festival features kitchen crafts, open-hearth cooking, butchering, dairy chores, spinning, quilting, sewing, Pennsylvania German fraktur art, pottery making, and barrel making. Blacksmithing is also a key highlight, alongside historical displays that reflect life in Berks County during the 1800s.

Additional attractions include Native American displays, horse-drawn wagon rides, and old-time games and activities suitable for children. Attendees can enjoy period music and a Civil War veterans display. Speakers will delve into topics such as Pennsylvania mountain lions, whiskey distilling, Pennsylvania Dutch dialect, local units in the Civil War, and Native American storytelling. The historic farm’s nature trail will also be open. Food is provided by Virginville Grange, and while there is no admission charge for the festival itself, there is a nominal parking fee, and house tours incur an entrance fee. The event proceeds rain or shine.
