Howard County Fair

The Howard County Fair, celebrating its 80th anniversary, is scheduled to run from Saturday, August 8, through Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Howard County. The fair operates daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., welcoming visitors to a range of activities and entertainment.

Attendees can experience a traditional fair atmosphere with musical performances, engaging animal contests and shows, thrill-seeking midway rides, and games of chance. The fair also features a variety of food vendors, including local groups such as the Glenwood Lions Club, Glenelg High School Boosters, Glenelg Marching Band, and Marriotts Ridge High School, offering classic fair foods like French fries, fried dough, and fried Oreos. A key highlight is the support for youth programs, demonstrated through special auctions. The 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale takes place on Friday, August 14, at 6 p.m. in the Show Pavilion, providing an opportunity to support young farmers. Additionally, the 4-H Champion Baked Goods Auction is held on Sunday, August 9, at 4 p.m. in the Show Pavilion, where visitors can bid on award-winning baked goods. Admission for individuals 13 years and older is $10, for those over 62 it is $5, and children under 13 are admitted free, with free parking available.
