Boulder County Fair

Celebrating its 157th anniversary in 2026, the Boulder County Fair is held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont, Colorado. As the state's oldest county fair, the event maintains its traditional roots through 4-H competitions, including ranch horsemanship and livestock shows, while drawing large crowds with modern attractions. The 2026 season emphasizes historical milestones, including the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 155th birthday of the city of Longmont.

The Fair Garden has become a central social hub, featuring a lineup of more than 20 free musical performances ranging from Americana and country to hip-hop and blues. This area also serves as a showcase for Boulder County food trucks and local craft beverages. A major highlight is the annual Kickoff Parade, sponsored by the Longmont Kiwanis Club, which travels through the downtown area to mark the beginning of the fair festivities.

Artistic programming received an expanded budget for 2026, introducing eight large-scale sculptures and interactive installations across the midway. The Exhibit Building hosts galleries featuring regional wood and stone carvings, textile exhibits, and international art curated by the Museo de las Américas. Visitors can also participate in live art demonstrations and craft-making workshops throughout the fair's duration.
