Woofstock Festival

The Woofstock Festival, an annual rain-or-shine event, is the Animal Welfare Society's largest fundraiser, welcoming both families and their canine companions. On Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the festival transforms the Animal Welfare Society campus in Kennebunk into a vibrant hub with various attractions. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, live musical performances, and a local craft beer garden, alongside family-oriented activities like bouncy houses, face painting, and games.

While admission is free, a $5 donation upon arrival is suggested, as all funds raised directly support the Animal Welfare Society's extensive programs. These initiatives encompass an adoption center, dog training courses, and an affordable veterinary clinic providing services from spays and neuters to wellness exams. The organization also runs community resource programs, including food pantry support and temporary housing for pets. As an entirely privately funded entity, the Animal Welfare Society relies on such events to continue its crucial work.

To manage parking at the campus, satellite lots are provided at Kennebunk Elementary School and the Middle School of the Kennebunks, with dog-friendly shuttles operating throughout the day. Visitors bringing dogs are reminded that all pets must remain on a leash, with retractable leashes discouraged. The festival thoughtfully includes "quiet areas" and "chill zones" to ensure comfortable breaks for dogs who may need them. This community effort, held on the last Saturday of July each year, is meticulously planned over several months by numerous employees and volunteers.
