Minorville Jubilee

The Minorville Jubilee is an annual community celebration that takes place in Natchez, Mississippi. The event is held in Minorville, a historic African-American neighborhood, and on Saturday, July 25, it marks its 36th anniversary. The jubilee is a day of festivities designed for the youth and residents of Minor Street and its surrounding areas, featuring a variety of planned educational, informational, and fun activities.

Historically, Minorville originated from parts of the Concord estate in the mid-to-late 19th century, developing into a residential hub for the African-American community in Natchez. While rooted as a neighborhood celebration, the Minorville Jubilee Inc. has expanded its scope as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Its broader mission aims to enhance the quality of life for all residents of Minorville and adjacent neighborhoods, with a particular focus on the elderly, and to provide educational outreach to school-aged children and young adults irrespective of their location. Community development and cultural awareness are integral to the organization's mission, with the annual Minorville Jubilee serving as its signature event.
