Italian Family Festa

The Italian Family Festa is a long-standing cultural festival in San Jose that celebrates Italian-American traditions and community. Held at the spacious History Park, the 44th annual edition of the event is presented by the Italian American Heritage Foundation (IAHF). The festival provides a family-friendly atmosphere with free admission, inviting the public to engage with Italian culture through various live performances and interactive activities.

Food is a central component of the experience, with professional and community chefs preparing a wide range of Italian classics. Attendees can sample traditional dishes such as polenta with sausage, ravioli, arancini, and meatball sandwiches. Sweet offerings include freshly made cannoli, gelato, and specialty items like candied fruit skewers. A dedicated Wine Garden showcases regional labels, including Guglielmo, Bargetto, and Fortino wineries.

Highlights of the festival entertainment include the Celebrity Grape Stomp competition, which features local mayors and sports figures, and performances by the Sbandieratori e Musici Faentini flag twirlers. The event also hosts numerous vendors selling specialty Italian goods such as balsamic vinegars, olive oils, salami, and biscotti, alongside live music and cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend.
