Parque de Vida festival

The Parque de Vida festival is an Independence Day celebration taking place on July 3 and 4, 2026, at the Parque de Vida lawn, located at 425 Roger Smith Ave. in Cortez, Colorado. Organized by the Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Fundamental Needs Foundation, this two-day event offers a diverse program for all ages.

On Friday, July 3, celebrations kick off at 3 p.m. with a pre-show featuring a volleyball tournament, a beer garden for adults 21 and older, food vendors, and local retail. Families can enjoy various kids' games, including a play area with water activities. The evening's entertainment includes live music from local band The 14ers, followed by Moonshine Mafia closing out the night. Friday's events also serve as a fundraiser for the Fundamental Needs Foundation's Makerspace in Cortez.

The July Fourth events on Saturday, July 4, commence at noon. Attendees can participate in corn hole and kickball tournaments, a food-eating contest, and enjoy the BumzArodn All-American Car Show and a dedicated kids' zone. Live music performances will continue throughout the day, leading up to the grand fireworks show at 9 p.m., presented by the city and the Cortez Fire Protection District.
