Nyege Nyege Festival 2026

The 2026 Nyege Nyege Festival, themed the 'Wakaliwood Edition,' will run for four days from November 19th to 22nd. Returning to Kalagala Falls in Jinja, Uganda, as its permanent location, the festival is partnering with the legendary Ramon Film Productions, which means the event will also function as an active film set for Wakaliwood’s next feature movie. This move aims to expand the festival’s scale, cultural footprint, and economic impact, supported by partners like Spirit of Uganda and Uganda Waragi, the latter having committed to a long-term deal.

Attendees can anticipate an ambitious musical experience with more than 200 artists performing across seven stages. The event will feature an expanded Uganda Waragi (UG) Stage, alongside the return of the popular Reggae Stage and Boiler Room Stages. Scheduled acts for the UG Stage include Zonke Africa DJ Collective, King Saha, Linus Tattoos, Abeeka Band, DJ Akio (Strictly Soul), and Etania.

Significant site upgrades at Kalagala Falls are planned to enhance visitor comfort, including closer parking, improved ground navigation, and expanded accommodation and camping options. Beyond entertainment, the festival is a catalyst for local tourism and the hospitality sector, supporting food vendors, artisans, and local businesses in and around Jinja. A community tree-planting initiative will also be launched to champion environmental conservation and provide sustainable benefits to local residents. Prior to the main event, regional warm-up parties are slated for Kenya and Rwanda.
