Open House Film

The "Awakening the Power of Creative City, People Making Films: Open House Film" event was officially launched on August 8th, 2026, in Pattaya, Thailand. Chonburi Provincial Governor Naris Niramaiwong presided over the opening ceremony at the Fountain Activity Area on the ground floor of Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya. This one-day activity is a key initiative within Pattaya's strategic project to achieve recognition as a UNESCO Creative City of Film and establish itself as a central hub for the ASEAN film industry.

The event offered a diverse program designed to engage the public and industry stakeholders. Attendees could explore exhibitions showcasing Pattaya’s journey towards becoming a Creative City of Film, alongside knowledge-sharing displays from five other provinces. Practical engagement opportunities included DIY arts and culture workshops, cultural performances, and screenings of short films like “Films Still Give Rise to Wisdom,” aimed at inspiring participants.

A significant component of the Open House Film event involved seminars and discussions led by experts and film industry professionals. Topics covered included "Opening the Door to the Global Film Industry: Pattaya, City of Opportunities and Creativity," "In-Depth Behind the Scenes of Filmmaking in the Area and the Direction of the Creative Economy," and "From Location to a Comprehensive Film Industry: The Power of Thai Filmmakers." These sessions facilitated the sharing of experiences and perspectives among directors, producers, entrepreneurs, and local film production networks, furthering Pattaya's commitment to developing its film industry and creative economy.
