City Parade 2026

Islamabad will host the City Parade 2026 on August 14, 2026, to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day with national zeal. This large-scale public event is scheduled to take place at the Old Parade Ground, D-Chowk, a venue that will host a major national event after a 12-year hiatus. The celebrations are expected to attract a significant number of citizens and families, with activities commencing in the evening.

The parade's program includes live musical performances by renowned artists such as Nimra Mehra, Sahir Ali Bagga, and the Khumariyaan Band. Attendees can also enjoy disciplined displays by police squads, vibrant performances by the Jhang dance group, traditional dhol beats, pipe and percussion bands, and a unique camel band. A procession of vintage cars and motorbikes will add a classic charm to the parade. The festivities will culminate in a magnificent fireworks display, illuminating the night sky over the federal capital.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has encouraged citizens to participate in this national celebration to express national solidarity and enjoy the joyous occasion with their families. Traffic management plans, including special diversions and parking arrangements around Jinnah Avenue and Blue Area, were reportedly implemented, underscoring the event's scale. The event offers free admission, aiming to allow broad public participation in the Independence Day festivities.
