ComputeX 2026

ComputeX 2026 was an open house and innovation showcase held on July 21, 2026, in Islamabad, organized by the Department of Computer Science at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). This event, described as the third of its kind, served as a vibrant platform for students to present their cutting-edge projects and innovative ideas in emerging technologies, showcasing their technical expertise and approaches to addressing real-world challenges.

The exhibition featured a wide array of student-developed projects across various fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, software development, programming, cybersecurity, data science, and web and mobile applications. The event was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood, who reviewed the student projects and emphasized the importance of commercializing these innovations to benefit society and contribute to the national economy.

In addition to the innovation showcase, ComputeX 2026 incorporated a series of student competitions. These included a programming contest, a computing knowledge quiz, a digital poster design competition, and e-gaming competitions, where students enthusiastically demonstrated their technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and creative skills. The event aimed to foster a culture of research, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship within the university and strengthen collaboration between academia and the technology industry.
