Book Launch of Naqshe Kohan and Nisf Sadi Ke Qisse

The Karachi Press Club Auditorium hosted a star-studded literary gathering for the unveiling of two new works by US-based Pakistani author Jameel Usman. The event focused on the release of 'Naqshe Kohan' and 'Nisf Sadi Ke Qisse', attracting a significant audience of journalists and writers despite the current economic challenges facing the local publishing industry.

'Naqshe Kohan' focuses on mapping cultural and historical roots, while 'Nisf Sadi Ke Qisse' (Tales of a Half Century) compiles the author's published short stories written over the last 50 years. These works aim to document the lived experiences and the changing social and political landscape of Pakistan through the lens of fiction and historical exploration.

Presided over by prominent journalist Mahmood Sham, the ceremony included readings by the author and tributes from colleagues and family. Discussions during the launch emphasized the importance of maintaining literary traditions and the role of the Karachi Press Club as a space for intellectual discourse and freedom of expression.
