Operating under the theme "Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati," the event focused on national well-being and diversity. The festivities were graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, alongside Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also made a surprise appearance at the parade despite not being on the official guest list.

The program featured a massive procession involving 10,819 participants across 76 contingents and 22 marching bands. The display showcased 328 land, sea, and air assets, as well as 112 service animals and 22 electric vehicles. Spectators witnessed a variety of stage performances and a human graphics display on the terraces. To support the large turnout, Prasarana Malaysia provided 24-hour MRT services, feeder buses, and water taxis to transport visitors to the venue.

Organizers monitored haze conditions leading up to the event, with the committee considering cloud seeding before proceeding as planned after a full dress rehearsal on August 29. During the celebrations, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim highlighted government welfare initiatives, including expanded fuel subsidy quotas. Authorities also emphasized shared responsibility for cleanliness, urging the public to manage waste properly at the site.
