European Heritage Days

The 2026 edition of European Heritage Days in Luxembourg, held under the theme “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reinvent,” offers a diverse programme combining tours, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, performances, and participatory experiences. All events are free of charge, focusing on the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. The official opening is scheduled for Friday, October 16, at the Luxembourg Centre for Architecture (LUCA) in Luxembourg-Clausen.

On Saturday, October 17, several prominent public institutions, including the Grand Ducal Palace, the Chamber of Deputies, and various ministries, will open their doors to the public from 10:00 to 16:00, with last admission for some sites at 17:00. These simultaneous openings, accompanied by guided tours, provide a unique opportunity to explore emblematic sites of the Luxembourg state and understand their roles.

A new highlight for 2026 is a festival dedicated to architectural heritage, organized by the National Institute for Architectural Heritage (INPA). This festival will be held from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, at Bourglinster Castle. Open to all, it aims to discover, transmit, and promote Luxembourg's built heritage through educational activities, workshops, guided tours, presentations, concerts, and discussions.
