Organized for the fourth consecutive year, the exhibition is held in front of Lt Col Thileepan's main memorial in Nallur, Jaffna. Its goal is to document his history and sacrifice, with organizers aiming to convey his legacy to younger generations.

Lt Col Thileepan began a fast unto death at the Nallur Kandaswamy temple on September 15, 1987. He refused food and water for twelve days, seeking political relief for the Tamil people. He died on September 26, with none of his five demands fulfilled. These demands, which were addressed to India, included the release of Tamil political prisoners and a halt to certain military and resettlement activities in the North-East region.
