Altay – The Golden Cradle of the Turkic World Festival brought together literary, sporting, craft, and musical traditions in Katon-Karagai, East Kazakhstan. The program included poetry dedicated to Kazakh poet Aktan Nurbayev, aitys improvisational verse, ethnocultural displays, regional food, and opportunities to meet artisans and museum representatives.

Traditional sports included kokpar, zhamby atu, tenge ilu, audaryspak, and horse racing, including the long-distance alaman baige. Yurt displays featured carpets, embroidery, clothing, wooden household objects, museum exhibits, and examples of regional craftsmanship.

The July 11 gala concert featured Dimash Qudaibergen and performers representing several countries and regions of the Turkic world. Post-event reporting estimated attendance at about 50,000 people, while advance coverage stated that admission was free.
