Event summary

Highlights

  • International and local street performances, including artists from France, Lithuania, Chile, Slovenia, and Brazil.
  • "Rock the Joy" citizen dance competition with expert and citizen judges.
  • Artrekking program offering routes that combine performances and hands-on activities.
  • Free family programs including a children’s EDM party, kite-making, and traditional Korean games.
Organized by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, the festival presents 20 works across 62 performances. The lineup includes diverse acts such as giant puppets, circus performances (Chinese pole, tightrope walking, juggling), contemporary dance, and traditional Korean performances. Artists from France, Lithuania, Chile, Slovenia, and Brazil are among those participating, with some works designed to move with audiences.

A new program called Artrekking offers four suggested routes, with full and half courses, that combine performances with hands-on activities, catering to families and other visitors. Attendees can explore the venues on foot, using Ttareungi public bicycles, or Han River buses, while collecting stamps at six locations to complete a festival postcard.

Key highlights include "Rock the Joy," a citizen dance competition featuring 16 teams judged by experts like Aiki, Lee Ruda, and Lee Jae-won, along with 100 citizen judges. Free family programs offer a children’s electronic dance music party, kite-making, treasure hunts, traditional Korean games, a tree playground, and a cultural market. All programs are free, though some may require advance reservations.
