The Kinshuko Great Waterfall Illumination offers a distinctive summer experience at the Kinshuko Great Waterfall, located within Kawajiri General Park in Nishiwaga Town, Iwate Prefecture. This event, running nightly from 18:30 to 21:00, transforms the dam-fed falls into a magical display of light, recognized as Japan's first dam facility designated a Japanese Night View Heritage Site. The illumination features a signature rainbow display alongside seasonal color changes throughout the period.

During the day, visitors can immerse themselves in the natural attraction by walking behind the thundering water inside the dam, enjoying the cool mist and refreshing temperatures. This unusual viewpoint from behind the falls is a standout feature of Nishiwaga's natural offerings.
