SUMMARY:Butter Festival
LOCATION:Raithal\, Uttarkashi
DESCRIPTION:The Butter Festival\, locally known as Anduri Utsav or Makhan Holi\, is a unique cultural celebration held in the high-altitude meadows of Dayara Bugyal near Raithal\, Uttarakhand. Scheduled for August 15–18 in 2026\, the event features participants smearing butter and buttermilk on each other in a manner similar to the Holi festival. It honors the seasonal return of cattle from alpine pastures and expresses gratitude for healthy livestock and abundant milk production.\nhttps://festivalindex.com/en-in/events/27846-butter-festival-2026
