Environment Festival 2026

Organized by the Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation in partnership with the Green City Foundation and Nashik-based Hirvankur Sanstha, the Environment Festival 2026 serves as a public movement for sustainability. The event aims to raise awareness regarding tree plantation and the maintenance of a clean city environment, responding to rising local temperatures by encouraging every resident to plant and nurture at least one tree.

The festival officially begins on the morning of August 12 at Nutan Maratha College. Key activities scheduled for the opening day include a community bicycle rally and a Vruksha-Dindi, which is a traditional procession focused on tree awareness. These activities are designed to engage the youth and local residents in environmental protection efforts before the formal inauguration.

A central component of the five-day program is an environmental exhibition that is open to the general public, including students and women, with free entry. Organizers have modeled the initiative after successful cleanliness movements in other Indian cities, such as Indore, to inspire residents to take personal responsibility for the ecological health of their surroundings.
