Jerusalem Design Week

Jerusalem Design Week returns to its longtime venue at Hansen House from July 9 to 16, 2026. This edition provides a free public program of design-led culture curated by artistic directors Sonja Olitsky and Roni Azgad-Hamburger. The festival serves as a platform for designers to present works that challenge perceptions of reality while examining the aesthetic elements found in our daily surroundings.

The overarching theme for 2026 is "Match Point," a concept inspired by major summer sporting events such as Wimbledon and the FIFA World Cup. Through this lens, the festival investigates the nature of competition, the drive for success, and the social impact of victory. The programming bridges the gap between athletic endeavor and visual communication, highlighting how sports culture influences national morale and individual effort.

Key exhibitions scheduled for the week include "Control Room," which analyzes the pervasive nature of data monitoring and surveillance in the modern era. Other featured works explore the specialized field of typography in sports, the physical limits of the human body, and the evolving relationship between professional athletics and industrial sponsorships.
