The Quiet Land runs at Thomastown Concert Hall on 13 and 14 August 2026. Malachy McKenna’s play follows two elderly neighbouring farmers, Eamonn and Nashee, as they confront rural isolation, ageing, loneliness and the strain placed on their longstanding friendship.

The production features Brendan Corcoran and Ger Cody. It is accompanied by The Stones Will Speak, a 1974 short film produced by Terence McDonald that combines images of western Ireland with residents’ accounts of migration, separation and difficult rural life. The screening is presented in association with IFI Dublin.
