Official Opening of DARÚ HQ and Durrow Community Cycle Trails

The ceremony celebrated the transformation of a former Methodist Chapel and Civil Defence site into DARÚ HQ, a modern community and enterprise hub on Patrick Street. This facility offers flexible spaces for remote working, education, youth activities, and local business support, blending historic architecture with contemporary design. The project resulted from years of fundraising by the Durrow Development Forum with support from Laois County Council and the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.

In addition to the hub's opening, the event launched the Durrow Community/Family Cycle Trails. Developed in partnership with the volunteer group Pedal Vintage Durrow, these trails promote sustainable tourism and local heritage exploration. The occasion also served as the platform for unveiling the Laois County Outdoor Recreation Plan 2026–2030, reinforcing the region's commitment to enhancing recreational amenities and supporting a better work-life balance for residents through local infrastructure.
