Cumar na gCór

Cumar na gCór, translated as 'A Confluence of Choirs,' is a cultural event taking place at the Town Hall Theatre in Dungarvan. This collaborative concert features the local male voice choir Cór Fear na nDéise from the Waterford Gaeltacht alongside renowned Scottish singer Joy Dunlop and her choir, Còisir Alba. The performance serves as a return visit following the Irish choir's trip to Scotland, highlighting the strong ties between Irish and Scots Gaelic traditions.

In addition to the choral performances, the event includes special guest Louis Claxton, a Danish/Irish flamenco guitarist. Claxton's inclusion reflects Waterford's twinning with Denmark as part of cultural celebrations for Ireland's presidency of the EU. The concert is also integrated into Waterford City & County Council's Heritage Week programme, focusing on the preservation and celebration of native and sister Celtic languages. The evening promises a showcase of diverse musical styles, from traditional Gaelic singing to both modern and traditional flamenco compositions.
