Worawora Akwantutenten Festival

The Worawora Akwantutenten Festival, meaning "The Great Migration," is an annual celebration that commemorates the historical migration of the Worawora people from Kuntanase in the Ashanti Region around 1732 to their current settlement. Under the theme "Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future Together," the 2026 edition is set to preserve the community's cultural identity and foster development.

The week-long festival, from October 24 to November 1, 2026, features a variety of cultural, social, and community-oriented activities. These include a clean-up exercise, free health screening, homecoming events, a street carnival, youth and education forums, quiz and cooking competitions, and the Ofie Bepo Mountain Climb. The main event, the Grand Durbar, is slated for October 31 at Dwabrem Park in Worawora.

Funds raised during the Grand Durbar are specifically earmarked for selected community projects, such as the renovation of the Worawora L/A Basic School and the construction of mini-bridges to enhance access between farming communities. The festival invites sons and daughters of Worawora, both local and in the diaspora, along with Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, District Chief Executives, and corporate institutions, to participate and contribute to the community's advancement.
